What's Your Playlist?

You can expose your identity or remain anonymous. As I previously stated, it would be interesting to see what other people "jam out" to when exercising. Would you share yours in the comments section of this post? Maybe there's a song that's missing on your playlist!

Hard rock or even heavy metal with lots of drums and guitar. The beat keeps me motivated to keep moving.

Depends on what kind of workout you want to do...on my long runs, I break it down to what kind of mental focus I need to be in during specific periods of the race:

Pre-race: I need to be calm. If I'm to pumped then I start out way to fast and I will blow my pace so I pick music that is calm yet focuses my attention on the different stages I want to run...for this I picked the song "Elk Hunt" from the soundtrack of "The Last of the Mohicans." In the movie, the hunter has to focus and outsmart his target.

As the race starts: Running is all about tempo, timing, and a good rhythm...I like latin because it gets me into a rhythm without pumping me to up...for the start of the race, I pick, "Cancion del Mariachi" from the sountrack of the movie "Desperados."

When I need to fire-up the adrenaline, I like "Rebirthing" and "The Last Night" from Skillet.

My reward song...the song that I play on the last mile of my long run (either 13.1 or 26.2) I save for "More then a feeling" by Boston....I let that puppy take me all the way to the finish line.

Bob, Awesome ideas on music to warm up and keeping a steady running tempo and a reward song at the end of a race. Thanks for that info! Sharon
